Since the late 1960s, Lili Dujourie has been working on an oeuvre that oscillates between painting and sculpture. She uses materials that carry a contradiction: materials that are both soft and hard, flexible and immovable. From this material, she explores the space between floor and wall, movement and stillness, between painting, sculpture, photography and video. She never makes a clear choice. She searches for the space in between, the fold. Each of Dujourie's works is a fragment, an element in a subtle game of presence and absence.
