Zhu Penggao was born into a family of calligraphers and painters. He has been painting since he was young, copying the works of Tang and Song dynasty masters, and gradually formed his own style. He began to learn painting when he was a little older, with the traditional brush and ink of Song and Yuan dynasties as the foundation. After middle age, he borrowed Western painting techniques and created a unique Chinese landscape painting style that combines Chinese and Western styles. He uses the natural scenery of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Xinjiang border and Kunlun Mountains as the subject of his creation, and the pictures are magnificent and majestic. Zhu Penggao is good at poetry, calligraphy and painting, which can be called three unique things. In 1998, Zhu Penggao became the first calligrapher and painter in China to hold a personal calligraphy and painting auction. His calligraphy and painting works have been well received by the society and sought after by collectors. His artistic biography has been included in many large dictionaries. In recent years, his works have been auctioned many times at well-known domestic auction houses such as Poly, Rongbaozhai and Hanhai, and their artistic value has increased year by year.
