Welcome to our village The Village of Waverley is located about 15 kilometers inland from Halifax, the capital of Nova Scotia, Canada. Waverley has a rich history of gold mining, and was incorporated as a village in 1986. In 1996 Halifax/Dartmouth officially amalgamated with the surrounding areas, creating the Halifax Regional Municipality. Because of this, Waverley lost its incorporated status in 1996. Today, the Waverley area has a population of about 2000 and has a variety of businesses and attractions.
