Welcome to Ejima BASE Odawara! Our store was founded in Odawara, Kanagawa Prefecture in 1661 during the Edo period, and currently sells Japanese tea, washi paper, seaweed, and Japanese miscellaneous goods. We offer a wide variety of Japanese teas, including deep-steamed tea from Kakegawa using carefully selected tea leaves, locally produced Ashigara tea, fragrant charcoal-roasted hojicha, rich-tasting Uji matcha from Kyoto, and tea bags suitable for casual gifts. We also carry seaweed from the Seto Inland Sea, including first-picked seaweed from the Ariake Sea in Saga Prefecture. In addition to handmade washi paper from Mino and Kurotani, and one-of-a-kind craft washi paper made by artisans, we also carry "Honmino paper," which is registered as a UNESCO intangible cultural heritage. Our store will celebrate its 360th anniversary in 2021.
