Hunan University is located in Changsha, a famous historical and cultural city in China. The campus is located on the bank of Xiangjiang River and at the foot of Yuelu Mountain. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, a key university in the national "211 Project" and "985 Project", and a national "world-class university" construction university. Hunan University originated from Yuelu Academy, which was founded in 976 AD. It has gone through the changes of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties and has always maintained the continuity of cultural education and teaching. In 1903, it was restructured into Hunan Higher School, and was named Hunan University in 1926.
