The "Hallescher Anger" inn and hotel is located on the romantic banks of the Saale. Even in the days of the Saale rafting in the 17th century, there was a little house on the riverbank with a license to serve alcohol, where you could buy "Nordhäuser Kornbranntwein" and freshly smoked fish. Fishermen, raftsmen, stonemasons and rowers met there, all of whom sailed the Saale from here. When the weather was nice, the first bathers came around 1820 - hard to believe - in 1852 there was even a swimming pool near the bathing establishment. Simple benches not far from the little house on the riverbank offered a pleasant place to stay. The building of the current inn was built in 1886 and between 1933 and 1936 the then tenant Georg Schmidt added two rooms - today's "Luise" restaurant and the "Herzogsaal". In the 70s and 80s, the now very popular inn experienced an enormous rise to become a showcase for consumerism. After that, things became a little quieter around the Hallesches Anger until the popular tourist restaurant reopened in 2011 after extensive renovation. While enjoying a cold beer in our beer garden, which can accommodate up to 300 guests, you can experience the beauty of the Saale-Unstrut valley - just like the fishermen and raftsmen who stayed here at the Hallesches Anger several hundred years ago.
