The theaterhagen celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2011. Dance, theater, laboratory, performance, laboratory, encounter - that's what the Theater im Depot stands for, an independent co-production house that is housed in the former tram depot in Dortmund's Nordstadt. It is a place for urban groups and international companies, but also for experimental work and for concerts and discussion events. With the reopening in 2022/23, the program thus continues the tradition of the house: In 2000, the Association for the Promotion of Independent Theater Work was founded, with whose support the theater was able to welcome its first audience in 2001. It acts as the theater's sponsoring association. The Theater im Depot is thus a hub in the wide network of independent performing arts - regional, national and international.
