Searching is an essential part of my artistic work, which has to take detours. I look for the ideal formal language for a sculpture or for an artistic way of representing a theme given from outside. Working with stone is also about conquering the hard material or the weight of the stone. I prefer to work with wood with a chainsaw. The weather-related changes that take place in the works are a part of the creation process that I cannot influence, but which I consciously accept. The starting point for my work is often found objects, in the case of stone, boulders, which inspire me to further interventions through their history and charge.
