Expensive therapy training creates social inequality. Probably everyone in their life has experienced depression, burnout or relationship problems for which they spontaneously or on doctor's advice consulted a psychotherapist. The rates of psychologists, sexologists and relationship therapists are very high. They charge between 60 and 90 euros or more per hour. Some health insurance companies reimburse 10 to a maximum of 20 euros of this, usually a little more for minors or persons with an increased allowance. There is also a system whereby you hardly have to pay any excess at some government-registered clinical psychologists or clinical orthopedagogues. This is only possible after a doctor's certificate and is only possible with a very limited number of care providers with very long waiting lists. Why is therapy so expensive? People wonder why this cost price has to be so high. Usually a therapist works as a self-employed person and in addition to (rented or payable) therapy space, they also have to pay social security contributions. Sometimes VAT is also charged that has to be refunded to the government. From 70 euros, he or she will then, with a lot of luck, have 30 euros left and then he or she must also have enough clients per day/week and as a self-employed person, he or she must absolutely not get sick.
